There are 2 standards to analyse an electrical installation to calculate the arc energy. Both are American; NFPA70E
IEEE1584The NFPA70E consists of a set of tables to compare your fault levels to. This is a very basic system and only useful for single end feeds.
The IEEE1584 standard is a set of equations derived from carrying out arc testing and from calculations conceived by Ralph Lee.
The IEEE1584 standard covers a wider range of voltages and fault levels than the NFPA standard and is generally the chosen method for more complex electrical installations.
